Could Ebay mount a hostel take over of craigslist?

"Then, Craigslist founder Craig Newmark and Buckmaster ''engaged in a series of clandestine transactions designed to ensure that eBay would not be able to elect a director, and to either impose new transfer restrictions on eBay or dilute its interests, and to dilute the interest of the employee holders of company stock options,'' the complaint says.

Craigslist said its every action was for the sake of protecting the long-term well-being of the craigslist community." http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/business/AP-EBay-Craigslist.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=craigslist&st=nyt&oref=slogin

Why should Ebay try to take over Craigslist, it takes alot of hardwork to build a business on the internet and just let some BIG business come in and steal it from you,I don`t think so. I am for Craigslist, you go for it Craig, don`t give up. stairway2savings.zurvita.biz

While it admirable of Craigslist to want to protect their "community" I think better ways exist. On the other hand it's clear Ebay is all about the $$$ with this lawsuit.

Lots of turmoil always seems to surround Craigslist. What's up with that? This will be an interesting story to follow....
